The town demolished the historic 1896 bathhouse structure to make room for a modern campus footprint. In its place, they built the Brookline High School Municipal Pool building that stands today. The Town of Brookline chose to rename the facility to honor the life and public service. She contracted polio in 1955. During her medical rehabilitation, she picked up swimming to regain her mobility and eventually became an exceptionally skilled swimmer.

Review for private swim lesson. Can't say enough wonderful things about my experience, had a few lessons and they were simply excellent. The instructor, Yang, was patient with me and really took the time to explain the steps, etc. Would highly recommend!

The lady with the purple hair at the front desk treated us in a condescending manner. I came for the first time to swim with my two girls. We arrived at 12:06 for family swim. She informed us that the pool does not open until 12:30 which we understood. We proceeded to walk to the locker room to get changed and she stopped us saying again in a rude tone that the pool deck does not open until 12:30. I told her I understood that and that I am going to get the girls changed before then. The way she spoke to us was very condescending. She is not an appropriate staff member with the way she treats people and needs to be fired immediately. The rest of the experience was good. The pools are clean and the shallow pool was at a perfect temperature for the kids to swim in.

While visiting the area, I used the pool a couple of times and it was great. The facility is clean. The front desk was polite with a short straight forward process. $10 for a single entrance, 25 m lap pool, schedule is posted on the web. During the morning/early-afternoon, there were free lanes. Locker room is basic, bring your lock and soap

I have been to the Aquatics Center a few times alone with my 3.5 year old daughter. The facility is always clean with large men's/women's locker rooms and shower areas as well as (2?) Small family bathrooms/changing rooms with a locking door that offer privacy to shower. The different pools are perfect for all ages. Walk-in prices for an adult and child are very reasonable. The venue is good, but the star of the show is definitely the professional instruction. My daughter's swim teacher, Zeus, has been nothing short of spectacular. Last Summer my daughter spent many long days in a family member's pool with only Mom and Dad to teach her the basics. She lacked the confidence to swim without large floats and was uncomfortable dunking her head at all. After several classes, Zeus had built up her skill and confidence levels to the point where she can jump feet-first into the pool, swim half the length of the pool without assistance, and float on her back without assistance. We are all amazed how she can now hold her breath to dive down in the shallow end and pick up rings off the bottom. The progress she has made in just a few months is a testament to Zeus' skill and experience workin
